Karl Skaret was born in 1966 and was raised on a mixed farm near Camrose, Alberta. He is the youngest of six children. Karl studied at the Red Deer College and the Alberta College of Art. Karl's paintings have been displayed in shows in Red Deer, Camrose, Calgary, and Rosebud. His work is included in the Alberta Foundation for the Arts Collection. His work is found in private collections in Canada and the United States.

"All I ask from my paintings is that they be beautiful. My interest lies in expressing the beauty that surrounds me. What I appreciate most are wide open spaces, drama in the sky, the exhilaration of the creative process, and the grace in contemplation of beauty and what it means."
